Our Travel Planning Process: What to Expect When You Book with Us

Planning a luxury vacation should feel exciting, effortless, and deeply personal. At St. Germain Travel Group, we understand that your time is precious, your tastes are refined, and your desire to explore the world comes with a need for detail, discretion, and dedication. That’s why our travel planning process is designed to deliver not just trips, but extraordinary experiences.

Here’s a look at what you can expect when you book your journey with us, from the moment you first reach out to the day you return home.

1. Discovery & Consultation: Understanding You

Every unforgettable journey begins with a conversation. Once you reach out, we schedule a complimentary consultation—by phone, video call, to understand your travel style, preferences, goals, and dreams, and budget. Whether you have a destination in mind or are starting with a blank slate, this is where we begin to shape your perfect escape.

We dive into details such as:

  • Your ideal pace (relaxation vs. exploration)
  • Accommodation preferences (boutique hotels, luxury resorts, private villas)
  • Culinary interests
  • Activity levels and adventure appetite
  • Special occasions or milestones
  • Travel companions and their needs

This is also the perfect time to share any must-haves or deal-breakers. We listen intently, ask thoughtful questions, and begin painting a picture of what your bespoke itinerary could look like.

2. Research & Proposal: Tailoring the Journey

Following our consultation, we begin crafting your personalized proposal. Using our global network of trusted partners and insider knowledge, we design a custom itinerary that reflects your desires, budget, and travel goals. Sometimes we design more than one.

Within 3–5 business days, you’ll receive a beautifully presented digital proposal that includes:

  • Handpicked accommodations
  • Curated experiences (private tours, tastings, cultural encounters)
  • Suggested routes and logistics
  • VIP upgrades or exclusive perks
  • Optional add-ons for flexibility

This phase is collaborative. We welcome feedback, revisions, and refinements. Our goal is to make sure every aspect feels aligned with your vision.

3. Booking & Confirmation: Seamless Execution

Once the itinerary is approved, we take care of every booking on your behalf—from flights and transfers to hotels, guides, and experiences. Because of our industry affiliations and long-standing partnerships, we often unlock upgrades, early check-ins, and other perks not available to the public.

You’ll receive a finalized itinerary and invoice, along with clear expectations on the next steps, deadlines, and travel documents. Everything is organized, secure, and stress-free.

4. Pre-Departure Preparation: Peace of Mind

As your departure is near, we ensure you’re fully prepared. Our pre-departure package includes:

  • A detailed digital itinerary accessible via mobile app or PDF
  • Destination-specific tips (local etiquette, currency, weather)
  •  Event tickets
  • Emergency contact info and travel insurance guidance

5. While You Travel: Real-Time Support

While you’re off enjoying your journey, we remain just a message or call away. We are your 800#

We partner with on-the-ground teams in most destinations, so you have support wherever you go. Our commitment doesn’t stop when you board your plane, it continues throughout your trip.

6. Welcome Home: Reflect & Reconnect

Once you return, we check in to hear about your experience. What did you love? What could have been better? These conversations help us continuously refine your travel profile so each future trip is even more aligned with your preferences.

Many of our clients become lifelong travelers with us, returning for new adventures, family celebrations, romantic getaways, or solo escapes. We’re honored to be part of your travel story.

Why Our Process Works

Our approach combines the personal touch of a boutique agency with the global reach of elite industry partnerships. It’s intuitive, thorough, and designed for travelers who value excellence, ease, and exclusivity.

You can expect:

  • Transparent communication and pricing
  • Tailored recommendations, never one-size-fits-all packages
  • Access to hidden gems and once-in-a-lifetime experiences
  • An advocate before, during, and after your trip

Let’s Start Planning

Whether it’s your first luxury trip or your fiftieth, we’d love to design something exceptional for you. Reach out today for a no-pressure consultation and let’s start crafting a journey you’ll remember forever.

At St. Germain Travel Group, travel isn’t just where you go—it’s how you feel when you get there.

An Incredible 12-Day Journey Through Paris: A Love Letter to the City of Light

An Incredible 12-Day Journey Through Paris: A Love Letter to the City of Light

There are trips you take, and then there are trips that take you—gently by the hand, through moments so deliciously unforgettable, they become part of who you are. This is our personal story of one such journey: twelve extraordinary days in Paris, France, where every sunrise began with possibility and every sunset closed with a whisper of magic.

Day 1: Arrival & First Impressions
We landed at Charles de Gaulle just as the morning light kissed the rooftops of the city. Our driver whisked us to Le Meurice, the legendary hotel overlooking the Tuileries Garden. A warm croissant and espresso at Café de Flore later, and we were walking the Seine, stopping at Shakespeare and Company, letting the jet lag dissolve in literary daydreams. It was love at first sight for all four of us.

Day 2: The Louvre & A Hidden Bistro
We started early to beat the crowds at the Louvre, pausing in front of the Winged Victory and the Mona Lisa before getting gloriously lost in the Richelieu wing. For lunch, we slipped into a hidden gem: Le Comptoir du Relais, where a confit de canard and a glass of Chinon set the tone for the week. Our private tour was intimate, where we were able to immerse ourselves in the history of all the artwork this incredible museum offers. Then we ended the night at a local pub where they played “The Gypsy Kings” and we danced with all the locals until midnight.

Day 3: Montmartre & Midnight Views
Climbing the hill to Sacré-Cœur felt like entering another Paris—one with whispers of Picasso and Piaf. We wandered the Place du Tertre, where artists still sketch visitors, and watched the world go by from a tiny café called Le Consulat. That night, we returned to the hill for a bottle of wine, some fresh mocktails and the best view in Paris under the stars.

Day 4: Fashion, Macarons, and Le Marais
We dove into French fashion at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum before strolling through Le Marais. There, we lunched at L’As du Fallafel (yes, it’s worth the hype), wandered boutiques, and shared macarons from Pierre Hermé by the Place des Vosges. The day ended with an intimate dinner at Chez Janou, all candlelight and Provençal flavors. We took the train back to the left bank and had ice cream at a local ice cream shop before heading back to our hotel for the night.

Day 5: Versailles in Full Bloom
A Day trip to Versailles reminded us that opulence once had no ceiling. The Hall of Mirrors shimmered, but it was the gardens that truly stole our breath. We picnicked near the Grand Canal, and on the way back, our driver recommended a café in Passy—Le Réservoir—where we had a quiet evening, far from the tourist buzz.

Day 6: Art in the Morning, Jazz at Night
The Musée d’Orsay was a revelation—Monet, Renoir, Degas all bathed in morning light. A light lunch at the museum’s Belle Époque restaurant led us to Saint-Germain-des-Prés for people-watching and did some shopping at The Loui Vitton Shops.  That night, we slipped into a basement jazz club in the Latin Quarter. There were no signs, just music drifting up the stairs like a secret.

Day 7: The Eiffel Tower & Alain Ducasse
Yes, it’s touristy. Yes, it’s worth it. We booked the Champagne experience at the Eiffel Tower and toasted to life at the top. That evening, a once-in-a-lifetime dinner at Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée—three-Michelin stars, ten courses, and food as art.

Day 8: Markets & Montaigne
A slow morning wandering Rue Cler’s market stalls was followed by a decadent brunch at Café Constant. In the afternoon, we walked Avenue Montaigne, window-shopping through Dior and Chanel, and finished the day with a relaxed evening at the rooftop bar of the Peninsula Hotel.

Day 9: Latin Quarter Layers
We explored the Sorbonne, the Panthéon, and the gardens of Luxembourg. Crêpes at Breizh Café, wine from a tiny cave à vin, and hours lost in the cobblestone lanes. At night, we stumbled upon a small restaurant called L’Avant Comptoir, where every bite was a surprise, and everyone felt like a regular.

Day 10: Day Trip to Champagne
A private driver took us to Épernay, where we toured the cellars of Moët & Chandon and toasted with Dom Pérignon. Lunch was an elegant affair in a vineyard estate. Back in Paris, we walked hand in hand along the Seine, the city sparkling like glass.

Day 11: Modern Paris
We explored Fondation Louis Vuitton and admired its contemporary contrast to the old-world charm we’d grown used to. Lunch at Septime brought a modern French tasting menu to our palate. We finished the night by riding through the Seine River cruise and having a 5-course meal with champagne. The city at night sparkles and has a bit of gothic feel to it.

Day 12: The Last Morning
Our final breakfast was at Angelina’s, with their legendary hot chocolate and view of Rue de Rivoli. We spent our last hour on the Pont Alexandre III, promising ourselves this was not goodbye.

Where Travel Becomes Memory
Twelve days in Paris offered more than a vacation. It was a living dream slow unraveling of the senses, where the rhythm of the city aligned with our own. Every museum, every coffee shop, every quiet corner reminded us that travel isn’t just about seeing something new; it’s about feeling something unforgettable.

If Paris is always a good idea, then this trip was the best idea we ever had.

Whether you’re fresh out of university, enjoying a sabbatical, or navigating a career pivot, solo travel has become a powerful rite of passage. This comprehensive guide is crafted to inspire, inform, and empower any woman ready to take flight on her own.

Top Destinations for Solo Female Travelers

The efficiency of public transport and low crime rates make navigating solo a breeze.
  • Lisbon, Portugal: Sunshine and Soul A vibrant city built on seven hills, Lisbon combines cobblestone charm with modern creativity. Pastel buildings, soulful fado music, and fresh seafood create a feast for the senses. Solo female travelers love Lisbon for its safety, warmth, and welcoming culture. Spend the morning in Belém and the afternoon at a rooftop bar watching the sun dip over the Tagus River.
  • Reykjavik, Iceland: Where Nature Reigns Iceland consistently ranks as one of the safest countries in the world. Reykjavik, its quirky capital, is the perfect jumping-off point for exploring volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, and black sand beaches. Whether you’re soaking in the Blue Lagoon or chasing the Northern Lights, it’s a solo experience that feels otherworldly.
  • Chiang Mai, Thailand: Mindful and Magical Affordable, spiritual, and full of warmth, Chiang Mai is a solo travel favorite. Discover ornate temples, take part in meditation retreats, and enjoy night markets with incredible street food. Elephant sanctuaries, jungle treks, and Thai cooking classes make for a rich itinerary, and solo travelers are a familiar sight here.
  • Melbourne, Australia: Culture and Coffee Known for its vibrant arts scene and exceptional café culture, Melbourne is a solo traveler’s playground. Wander the laneways to discover murals and music, spend afternoons at bookstores and wine bars, or catch a ferry to Brighton Beach for a peaceful escape. With its laid-back vibe and helpful locals, Melbourne feels like a city that embraces you.

Hike Grouse Mountain, bike the Stanley Park Seawall, or explore art galleries and local markets. Safety, inclusiveness, and scenic beauty make it a solo dream.
  • Barcelona, Spain: Artistic Independence Barcelona’s blend of architecture, beach culture, and Catalonian independence makes it a lively spot for solo explorers. • Lima, Peru: Flavorful Footsteps Often a gateway to Machu Picchu, Lima is an underrated destination. From cliffside walks in Miraflores to world-class dining, Lima offers vibrant culture, culinary delights, and rich colonial history. Solo travelers can indulge in food tours, art museums, and the rhythm of Afro-Peruvian music.

Packing Tips for the Solo Adventure

  • Pack Light but Smart Stick to a carry-on if possible. Choose neutral colors and versatile outfits that can mix and match. Pack a dress that makes you feel confident—sometimes a splash of bold color is the best conversation starter.
  • Tech Essentials Bring a portable charger, universal adapter, SIM card or pocket Wi-Fi device, and a backup battery. Download offline maps and translation apps. Back up all your documents to the cloud before you leave.
  • Safety First Invest in a secure crossbody bag, RFID-blocking wallet, and small locks. A rubber doorstop can add extra security at your accommodation. Consider travel insurance that includes medical evacuation and trip delays.
  • Mini Wellness Kit Include basic medications, first-aid items, a reusable water bottle with a filter, and period products. Don’t forget sunscreen, moisturizer, and a lip balm—especially if you’re heading to high altitudes or dry climates.
  • Mindfulness Tools A travel journal, small yoga mat, or meditation app can help you stay grounded. Solo travel opens the door to internal reflection; nurture it intentionally.

Empowering Stories from the Road

  • Finding Freedom in Florence
“I sat alone with a glass of Chianti under a canopy of fairy lights in Florence. What began as anxiety turned into pride. I didn’t need company to feel full—I just needed presence.”
  • A Desert Trek in Morocco
“I rode a camel into the Saharan sunset, sand whipping around my scarf. It was both the quietest and most powerful moment of my life. Alone, I was more in tune with the Earth than I’d ever been.”
  • Dancing in Medellín
“In Colombia, I joined a salsa class on a whim. Nervous, I hesitated at the door, but two hours later I was spinning with strangers who felt like old friends. Confidence doesn’t arrive before you act—it arrives because you act.”
  • Teatime in Istanbul
“A Turkish grandmother invited me in for tea after I helped her carry groceries. We didn’t speak a word of the same language, but we shared laughter, figs, and quiet sisterhood.”

Safety and Intuition

Always trust your gut. If a street feels off, turn around. If a hostel seems unclean or unsafe, leave. Share your itinerary with a loved one and check in periodically. Stay aware, not afraid.

Apps like TripWhistle (emergency services numbers), Noonlight (personal safety app), and GeoSure (real-time safety ratings) can help you stay informed. But more than anything, stay connected to your own intuition. It’s the best compass you’ll ever have.

Final Words of Encouragement

Solo travel is the boldest love letter you can write to yourself. It isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. Learning how you move through the world without external voices defining your path.

You’ll meet people who inspire you, challenge you, and sometimes confuse you. You’ll get lost—and find something unexpected. You’ll be alone—and feel more connected than ever.

So go ahead: book the ticket, write the itinerary, choose the shoes. Whether you’re sipping espresso in Rome or hiking volcanoes in Costa Rica, know this—you are not alone in your solo.

Ready to plan your solo journey?

At St. Germain Travel Group, we specialize in crafting safe, stylish, and soul-stirring adventures for women travelers. We will build an itinerary for you that will be detailed and ready for you to take on your big trip. Let’s make your solo trip a dream come true!!
